Is Medusa going to lose the title – world largest snake (26 foot long python caught in Malaysia)

Yes, I know this won’t be an interesting subject for some people and it’s kind of scary to see the records of these being broken. Malaysian construction site workers caught a python allegedly said to be 26 feet long(BBC), world’s largest snake record was kept by a snake called medusa (captivity) 25.2 feet is being taking care by snake handler Larry Edgar. Medusa is just 8 years old.

Both pythons come from the same species called Python reticulatus (reticulated python) native to south East Asia. These snakes eat small mammals and birds for their survival (little relief isn’t it). And the news says this python did not survive the captivity process, it has given birth to one egg before the death likely to the captivity stress.

So even though this snake has broken or not the record of medusa, medusa still can hold it record for a while till another wild creature like this appears, as all these measurements and records for them who have met with a human and could not escape. There may be bigger snakes in forests still the man couldn’t find, good for them.
