Forced perspective vs Hackney Giant rat

Have you heard this before, but definitely you must have seen photos used this technique. Forced perspective is used to show objects bigger, faraway, and smaller through the camera lens so the human mind cannot manipulate it to the reality.

The Hackney Giant rat news went viral over the internet as the rat looked bigger than the usual size. But more people were able to understand the trick behind the pic was Forced perspective.

This is very interesting to know that even you can do this with a normal camera, mobile phone camera to make creative and amazing photos without using Photoshop. Think of a Facebook profile picture with use of this technique would be awesome.

Movie industry use this technique more than any other. Remember the movie Titanic, how good was the director and the cameraman using this technique to give us a better experience. Even though the latest movies use computer animation to do these tricks in the past people had to depend on this technique.

Perspective manipulation is also used in construction industry to make attractive buildings from through the history. The force perspective gallery at the Palazzo Spada in Rome would be a better example for that. This gallery increase the length by four times to the normal view.
